2 1/2

February 26th, 2009

We took a trip to San Diego in early February and Jake had a wonderful time.  The Zoo, Sea World, the beach, being outside in nice weather and the family all made the trip just perfect.  Jake was a great traveler both on the plane and through the airport.  Everything was an adventure for him!

Just yesterday he caught a huge catfish and spent his first night in a “big boy bed”.  He was so excited about both!  He is growing up so fast and is such a wonderful little boy!  He is very excited about his little sister!  He asks all the time when the baby is coming and always gives her hugs and kisses.  He is looking forward to taking care of “his baby”.

Wow - time flies

Jake is growing up so fast!  He is using 2 words at a time now and sometimes even forming 3 or 4 word sentences.  He can get his point across loud and clear now!  He is running around all the time and really enjoying the nicer weather.  He loves dogs, Tiger and Pooh, boats, big fish and pretty much everything new!  Every day John and I say “he is so much fun” or Jake is such an amazing little boy”.  We know we are blessed and are trying to enjoy ever second!  We are trying to keep the pictures updated so check out westsbabyblog.com/pictures.

A One Year Old!

August 21st, 2007

Wow - it seems like yesterday we just found out I was pregnant and now we have a precious, fun one year old little boy! Times does fly by. Jake is amazing - I know, I know, I say this every time! But, he really is so good to us. He started walking on his own at about 10 months but really took off walking well at 11 months. Since then we have just been trying to keep up. He loves carrying things around the house and exploring everywhere. He is saying mama, dada, baba for bye, bo for book, ha for hi and ug for hug. He can also gives kisses by saying mmmm against your cheek. It is slobbery but wonderful! He now weighs 21 pounds and is 29 1/2 inches long. We went on a plane ride in July to Mass. to visit John’s family and spend some time on the beach - Jake did great and ate some sand. We also have spent some time at the lake - Jake usually does not go out on the boat, but when he does he really enjoys the wind in his face when we go fast. He has started to dance when music plays and likes to jump on our bed. All in all, it has been the best year of my life - I could not have imaged having this little boy in our lives would be so rewarding and so much fun!!! We are truly blessed. Thanks for keeping up with Jake and our family!!! Don’t forget to check out the pictures at westsbabyblog.com/pictures.

Nine Months

May 25th, 2007

New pictures are up - as always.  Jake is amazing!!!  He weighed 20 pounds and 13 ounces and was 28 1/4 inches long at his check up.  He is growing up so fast!  He says Dada, Mama, hi, baba (I think for bye) and jabbers other things all day long.  He is not crawling yet, but to be fair he does not like being on his belly.  However, he walks everywhere while holding on to your hands and sometimes just uses one!  He also walks around on furniture.  Very cute and very sweet!!!!

8 months

Should have been posting more, but Jake is just too much fun!!! He keeps me and John on our toes or at least on our feet walking him around. Things he loves - other kids (especially the little ones across the street), walking/ running with help, playing with his train, playing with his grandparents and parents, “getting” daddy, kisses and being outside. He is starting to get the concept of waving and says HI. Also repeats syllables and tries to get the sounds right when you talk as well. Like HA for HAT or Ba Ba for big boy. I know that may be stretching it, but I think he really knows what we are saying. Loves being sung to also. Will sometimes try to sing along. He is really flexible and has a great attitude. Again, he is so much fun!!!! We are loving every minute with the little guy!!!!

Six months old - what a big boy

February 23rd, 2007

It has been way to long since I wrote - but it is more fun to play with Jake.  He is still wonderful!!!!He turned 6 months old on Saturday and had his doctor’s appointment today and weighs 18 pounds and is 27 1/2 inches long!  He only cried for 30 seconds after his shots - such a brave little boy! On his 6 month birthday he had his first taste of “real” food and today  he ate some rice cereal for dinner and loved it - a little messy but for the most part very fun.  He is sitting up by himself now but falls over when he starts reaching for something.  He also loves to stand up and bounce - all the time he wants to bounce!  Jake even has one little tooth coming in on the bottom!!!!  We cannot believe our little boy is growing up so fast - time is flying by! We took him out on our new boat yesterday and had a great time - I think he is going to love the water! We are looking forward to every new day with Jake - I think he gets cuter overnight!!!!

First Christmas

December 29th, 2006

Jake was so amazing during his First Christmas!  We went to my Grandma Carnagey’s on Saturday and he met a lot of people and was great during the entire day.  Then we went to church on Christmas Eve and Jake even met a new friend.  Later that day we spent the evening with Gama and Grandpa West and then spent the night at Grammie and Grandpa Carnagey’s.  He even slept in on Christmas morning but later enjoyed his first attempt at opening presents.  (Of course he was a little spoiled with presents but was so wonderful and flexible he deserved it.)  The Cookson side of my family came for dinner and Jake was so pleasant and easy going with all the new faces!  We have such an amazing little boy and are truly blessed to have been able to spend Jake’s first Christmas with our families!  We are looking forward to all the new year has in store for Jake!

Jake is still amazing (as if you didn’t think he would be)!!! He weighs 16 pounds and is 25 1/2 inches long!!! He is beautiful and is perfect! He sleeps through the night, laughs and smiles and has rolled over already! He is now sitting with assistance and loves it. He tries to do crunches to sit up on his own all the time. It is wonderful having him in our lives and we are so very thankful for him. We are looking forward to his first Christmas and New Year! As I am typing he is talking away!!!

Three Months

November 17th, 2006

Wow - time flies!!! I remember when I was wishing he would finally get here and now he is such a big boy already!!! Jake is amazing. We are so blessed to have such an adorable and loving little boy. He plays so much, talking most of the time. He has the biggest, prettiest smile in the entire world. I kiss him about 100 times a day. He is very intersted in his hands, people and his toys now. Mainly he wants to lick or chew on anything he can bring to his mouth. He is holding his head up, sitting with some assistance, thinking about rolling over and discovering new things every day. As always we have more pictures so feel free to look around at westsbabyblog.com/pictures!!!!!
